Texas Upfitter Performing CNG Conversions on GMC 3/4-Ton Pickups

Capital CNG, a Houston-based company that specializes in natural gas vehicle conversions and related services, has begun performing bi-fuel compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel system upfits on the 2015 GMC Sierra 2500HD.

General Motors itself coordinates NGV conversions on this platform and its sister truck, the Chevy Silverado 2500HD, but Capital CNG says its work represents the first bi-fuel CNG conversion on this model outside of GM's own facilities.

‘We are very pleased with this vehicle's performance,’ says Adam Robey, CEO of Capital CNG. ‘We've run it out to California and have successfully completed all of our endurance and performance tests.’

The company's technicians completed the conversion in partnership with IMPCO Automotive. Capital CNG notes that it will also be working with the Gullo Motor Group to begin converting 2015 Ford F-250s.
