George West LNG Production Plant Goes Online

Stabilis Energy has announced the grand opening of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) production facility in George West, Texas. The company says the 100,000-gallon-per-day facility is strategically located in the heart of the Eagle Ford Shale to provide fuel for high-horsepower engines used in the oilfield, transportation, mining, rail, marine, asphalt and other industrial sectors.

‘We offer a reliable source of LNG fuel for customers in the Eagle Ford Shale and throughout Texas,’ says Casey Crenshaw, CEO of Stabilis Energy. ‘Despite recent declines in oil prices, Stabilis can provide LNG fuel that is cost competitive with diesel.’

The George West LNG facility is the first to be built as part of a joint venture between Stabilis Energy and Flint Hill Resources LLC, a refining, chemical and biofuels company and a subsidiary of Koch Industries. The joint venture recently announced plans to acquire property in Odessa, Texas, for the proposed construction of a second LNG liquefaction facility to serve the Permian Basin.
