American Power Group Inc. (APG) has received Texas state grant eligibility for its dual-fuel natural gas conversion systems on 66 more Class 8 engine families.

Previously, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TECQ) had issued APG eligibility in the state's Emissions Reduction Incentive Grants (ERIG) Program for more than 400 heavy-duty engine families, and this latest approval adds to APG's eligible engine portfolio.

Under the ERIG Program, the TECQ offers fleets grant funding for the replacement, repower or retrofit of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. According to APG, grant amounts vary and may range from several thousand dollars up to $15,000.

APG's dual-fuel systems are approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for integration into a large spectrum of engines for Class 8 trucks, including models from Cummins, Daimler, Detroit Diesel, Mack and Volvo.

‘We are pleased to have our second set of dual-fuel engine family applications approved for ERIG eligibility, especially the 18 late-model Class 8 selective catalyst reduction (SCR) engine families for Volvo D13, Mack MP8, Detroit Diesel DD13, and Detroit Diesel DD15,” comments APG CEO Lyle Jensen.
