ITM Power and The Hardstaff Group are partnering to develop and market a fuel system for hydrogen-enriched compressed natural gas (HCNG) engines for the commercial truck market in Europe.

CNG or biomethane can be combined with hydrogen to produce HCNG, which offers "significant benefits in the emissions performance and efficiency of engines," the company says.

"Partnering with the Hardstaff Group allows for the staged rollout of hydrogen technology to heavy goods vehicles - a market driven by cost reduction and improvements in efficiency," says Dr. Graham Cooley, CEO of ITM Power.
