CleanFUEL USA, a company that focuses on propane autogas vehicle conversions and refueling solutions, has moved into new corporate and production space in Wixom, Mich., and hired a half-dozen employees to accommodate company growth.

"Having a presence in the metro Detroit area played a significant role in landing new OEM partners and will facilitate additional partners in the future," says Wayne Moore, chief operating officer. "The ability to boast a close working relationship with important suppliers and partners in this area, who continue to support our programs, serves as a key component to our success."

CleanFUEL USA is currently the propane autogas system provider for the GM 6.0-liter G4500 product and will soon serve as the provider for the Freightliner Custom Chassis S2G product. The S2G incorporates the GM 8.0-liter engine, developed and integrated by Powertrain Integration, into delivery truck and Thomas Built school bus platforms.

The company says its new 10,000 square-foot plant will facilitate better use of production space, including a dedicated clean room for sensitive component assembly and an expanded prototype shop for developing new designs and systems. An open house will be held on Tues., Sept. 18.

CleanFUEL USA notes that its headquarters and autogas dispenser manufacturing facilities remain in Texas.
