Student transportation company First Student will be deploying 50 propane-powered school buses this fall for the Bozeman Public School District in Bozeman, Mont.

These full-size Blue Bird Vision school buses feature the Ford 6.8-liter engine coupled with ROUSH CleanTech's propane autogas fuel system. A 67.5-gallon ASME-certified steel propane autogas tank is mounted between the frame rails in the vehicle's rear overhang. The propane-powered Vision is certified by both the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB).

Rated up to 33,000 lbs. GVW, the Vision uses the Ford 6R140 six-speed automatic transmission, and seating configurations can accommodate up to 78 passengers.

Notably, a rollout of 434 propane-equipped Blue Bird Visions was recent completed on behalf of the Omaha school district in Nebraska.
