Group Plans Heavy-Duty NGV Training Programs for Technicians

The Natural Gas Vehicle Institute (NGVi) will be presenting its Heavy-Duty NGV Maintenance and Diagnostics Training program twice this summer on the East and West Coasts.

The courses – to be held in Charlotte, N.C., on June 24-26, and in San Leandro, Calif., on Aug. 12-14 – will give heavy-duty vehicle technicians comprehensive NGV training, focusing mainly on maintenance and diagnostics. The three-day course examines the operation, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of these vehicles, covering both compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) systems.

NGVi says the program is designed for technicians with at least basic skills in vehicle repair. The course includes operational theory with hands-on exercises and covers the use of DMMs, scan tools and other diagnostic equipment, as well as prepares techs for the ASE H1 exam.
