Halco, a New York-based provider of commercial and residential energy solutions, is partnering with ROUSH CleanTech to convert 25 of its fleet assets to run on propane autogas.

‘Energy efficiency is our life, so for us, propane autogas has been a no-brainer,’ says Hal Smith, co-owner of Halco Energy. ‘By deploying propane autogas vehicles in our fleet, we're helping our pocketbook and the environment at the same time.’

The company will be converting 16 cargo vans and nine pickup trucks, all featuring ROUSH CleanTech propane autogas fuel systems. Halco Energy, which is also working on the installation of a 16,000-gallon on-site autogas tank and the related refueling equipment, says it anticipates saving approximately $600,000 in fuel and maintenance expenses over the life of the vehicles. Plans call for the company to transition 75% of its fleet to propane autogas over the next four years.

Halco Energy received grant funding from the Genesee Region Clean Communities to support the initiative.
