Interstate Secures Liquefied Natural Gas Supply from Clean Energy

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. says Interstate Distributor Co., a Tacoma, Wash.-based trucking firm, has signed a multi-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) fueling agreement with the company.

Interstate will be rolling out its first complement of 20 LNG-powered heavy-duty trucks this year. This natural gas fleet will serve regional distribution centers in Washington and California, enabling Interstate to evaluate additional deployment opportunities for LNG throughout the U.S.

As a part of the agreement, Clean Energy is expanding its nationwide refueling network to include a station in Fife, Wash., where Interstate's fleet will access fuel. Interstate will also fill up with LNG using Clean Energy's public-access network in California.

Once fully deployed, Interstate's fleet is forecasted to consume approximately 350,000 DGE of LNG annually.
