More Progress in Clean Energy’s Liquefied Natural Gas Business

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. has notched new developments in its liquefied natural gas (LNG) business line, with two existing customers expanding their LNG footprints.

Kenan Advantage Group (KAG), which is Clean Energy's carrier for LNG itself, will be deploying 24 additional heavy-duty natural gas vehicles to haul fuel for Clean Energy.

KAG already operates 25 LNG-powered trucks and has been fueling at Clean Energy stations since last year. The new fleet of trucks will fuel at Clean Energy LNG stations in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas, consuming approximately 400,000 DGE of LNG annually.

Additionally, Pennsylvania-based carrier Modern Transportation is expanding its LNG fleet based in the Mid-Atlantic region. Its existing LNG-powered tractors run routine high-mileage routes for customer Owens Corning, with each truck traveling nearly 200,000 miles per year.

‘Our LNG truck fleet has performed extremely well, and we'll continue to expand this fleet to provide the most environmentally friendly and economical logistics solution to our customers,’ says Rich Kushner, vice president of sales for Modern Transportation.
