Texas Fleet Converting Box Trucks to Natural Gas

Matera Paper Co., a provider of industrial cleaning products and equipment, will be converting its fleet of 31 trucks to natural gas through the Texas Emissions Reduction Program.

Houston-based Nat G CNG Solutions will be Matera's lead partner in the initiative, coordinating the conversion of International brand box trucks from Navistar using natural gas engines supplied by NGV Motori USA. Nat G will also be facilitating the development of natural gas refueling infrastructure at three of Matera's five Texas facilities, in San Antonio, Houston and Corpus Christi.

Matera says the initiative will reduce the company's fueling costs by more than 30%.

‘Our conversion to natural gas for the trucks delivering Matera products to customers is an outgrowth of our commitment to the sustainable future of the communities we serve and to our state,’ says John Richardson, president of Matera.

The Texas Emissions Reduction Program is administered by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
