Oklahoma City Municipal CNG Station Up and Running

The City of Oklahoma City recently unveiled its first municipally owned compressed natural gas (CNG) station, located at the city's solid waste facility at 11501 N. Portland Ave.

The primary function of the new facility is to serve the city's growing fleet of heavy-duty CNG-powered refuse vehicles. A large time-fill CNG component – some 56 filling posts – has been built for that purpose. The city fleet also has access to a pair of fast-fill hoses.

The public, however, can also refuel at the facility. Two fast-fill CNG nozzles are set apart from the city's equipment for everyday natural gas vehicle drivers to use.
