The New York City Alternative Fuel Vehicle – Voucher Incentive Fund (NYCAFV-VIF) is now open for participation from fleets interested in financial assistance supporting the deployment of natural gas vehicles and electric vehicles.

The initiative, which is a part of the New York Truck – Voucher Incentive Program, will offer $6 million in incentives for Class 3 to Class 8 alt-fuel vehicles: new or converted trucks that run on compressed natural gas (CNG), or electric and hybrid-electric vehicles.

The NYCAFV-VIF incentives are sizable – up to $40,000 per truck. Eligible applicants include both private and nonprofit truck and bus fleets that operate their vehicles in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens and/or the Bronx.

The incentives are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The groups responsible for the program (NYSERDA, NYCDOT, NYSDOT and CALSTART) are encouraging fleets to submit their voucher request through an approved vendor as soon as possible.
